Raised in the burbs of Atlanta, Georgia, I started my photographic journey at 12 years old…Basically, I attended my very first concert, the Hard Rock Rockfest at Atlanta Motor Speedway, with a disposable camera in hand and found my two true passions in life: photography and live music. I spent my high school years at concerts and then subsequently in the darkroom.
In college I was lost. With no signs of light as I approached the end of a 4 year path, I met this extraordinary photographer, Zack Arias, who told me about the college he went to and how he was making a living as a photographer, shooting with an older model Nikon and a Vivitar 285 flash that was held together with rubber bands and duct tape. So, I got my commercial photography degree from the same school and bought similar equipment and just started shooting.
I’ve since developed my niche in my two loves, shooting bands and portraits…check my blog to see where it goes from here!
“Coco has an amazing eye for capturing the feeling, the energy and the vibe of a rock n roll moment.”
– Tommy London, The Dirty Pearls
“Coco has been taking pictures of me for years, yet I never cease to be amazed by what she’s able to capture from behind her camera. Her eye for detail and composition is painterly, her manner professional yet relaxed. She can manage to make just about anyone look cooler than they actually are, whether she’s shooting fashion or a rock show. But I believe what really sets her apart is her personality. She has a beautiful and gentle way of connecting with her subjects to bring out something honest and human in each of them. She doesn’t just take great pictures. She shows the viewer little pieces of who her subjects really are. Coco is a true artist with a complex and evolving gift.” – Elli Perry
“The one thing that separates good photographers from the great ones is being able to get ‘the moment.’ This is Coco’s forte’. She can shoot me in a dive bar but I come out lookin’ like stardust everytime baby.”
– Chris Cox, The Greater Vavoom
“Hand’s down one of the best photographers we’ve ever worked with. Knows what it takes to get a great shot. She is creative , detailed, fun to work with and the end result speaks for itself, much like i like to say ‘seeing is believing.”
– Rockets to Ruin
“She captures the heart and true spirit of NYC ROCK and ROLL in her photos” – Tom Morrissey, Killcode
“It’s hard not to get addicted to Coco’s photos, which have the same infectious quality as her beautiful, bubbly personality.” – Natalia Lopez de Quintana, Makeup artist
“CoCo has a way of bringing in her personal warmth to a sometimes awkward and cold situation, making her photography exceptional. Whether its live shoots or a set, she excels. She is the perfect and only individual that can deal with the 3 of us… and quite simply, make it work!”
– Tommy Zamp, Circus Life
